The implementation of smart agriculture in oil palm plantation management has been a long-term objective aimed at environmental protection. The expansion of economic development has brought about significant changes on a global scale. However, it is also evident that human activities are causing irreversible damage to the environment. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) recognise that action in one area will affect outcomes in others and that development must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability. The pursuit of economic growth has already resulted in global warming and the loss of wildlife habitats and forests. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a promising avenue for transforming human activities to achieve a more sustainable production mode.
